Billboard Alternative Songs - Imagine Dragons (5) October 6, 2018

What's up, guys? This week gonna busy  for me. I am trying to focus on blogging as much as I want to before a weekend of events I am attending. I may be late on a few charts Anyway, this week is pretty hot for a fall day. We had a few things going on this week on the Billboard Alternative Song chart. Before we get to this week's fresh 40, here are the songs we're saying good-bye to this week:

Exiting the Chart this week:
Blue October -  Daylight [#40]
Bastille -  Quarter Past Midnight [#32]
Foster The People -  Sit Next To Me [#10}

Blue October -  Daylight ...  Second  song from the album "I Hope You're Happy", wasn't a good production. The title cut did made the Top 15. Not sure on what will follow up to this song.

Bastille -  Quarter Past Midnight ...  This song did ok for its run... This was the follow up to "World Gone Mad" from the NetFlix film "Bright". I am thinking that "Happier" will give em their only other #1 song besides "Pompeii"

Foster The People -  Sit Next To Me ...   Finally after 55 weeks, we are saying good-bye to the second song from "Second Hearts Club" album that charted here. It did cross over on other charts with mediocre results. It was a surprise to some of the success. it peaked at #3 on March 31th of this year.

This Week's Entrys
Badflower -  Ghost ... Re-Entering this week, airplay was still strong for Badflower. Hope this go around is a better one.
Mike Shinoda F/ k.flay -  Make It Up As I Go ... Second song for Linkin Park singer Mike Shinoda which he collaborates  with k.flay... Her song with Robert DeLong "My Favorite Color Is Blue" was weak on her end.  Her vocals here is much better and less squeaky. I'm not gonna expecting this to make extreme waves here. If it does, it will be totally refreshing.
Bishop Briggs -  Baby ... This song is softer than her last few songs that charted, "Dream" and "White Flag". Its a song that can make it in the top 20 here.

Best Debut: Mike Shinoda F/ k.flay -  Make It Up As I Go

Now AAA charts YouTube channel airs the countdown in video form. At the end of the video, they recommend a song that may enter in the survey a week or two later

This week's AAA Charts Weekly Recommendation:
Kurt Vile - Loading Zones  ...  This singer/guitarist, formerly of the alt band The War On Drugs ("Pain") which he founded, comes out with his first solo release that sounds like a cross between John Mellencamp and Tony Carey with his own twist. This is an enjoyable tune that I can see it make it in the chart and peak in the top 20, maybe further.

Here is my 3 Recommendations for the chart:
Mike Posner - Song About You
Smashing Pumpkings -  Silvery Sometimes
The 1975 -  Love It If We Made It

My Alternative Blurbs
• Only new entry in the top 20 (and my only change on the review below) is Mumford & Sons -  Guiding Light. This song moves +16 (30-14) is racking up airplay this week and best bet to enter the Top 10 next week.

While Muse -  Something Human -7 (13-20) is the big dropper and could drop out in a few weeks

twenty one pilots gain a notch back up (27-26) with their #1 Jumpsuit when their other hit My Blood enters the Top 10 (12-8). Not sure if the latter will challenge the top spot while we thought the former will drop out as quickly as it entered the chart

• As I mention when Bastille's Quarter Past Midnight dropped out, Happier is on its way to the top spot as it moves four places (11-7).  Could happen in 2-3 weeks down the road.
